HOLD ME TOGETHER / After the Rule of the Father

Vincent Straub

A multimedia project on hegemonic masculinity, fossil capitalism, and the need for being held

HOLD ME TOGETHER / After the Rule of the Father

And when I stand proud and tall, I am also fragile and limping in the dark…

A new exhibition and performance opening soon in Oxford.

Through installation, moving image, and performance, HOLD ME TOGETHER / After the Rule of the Father unravels patriarchal symbols and weaves together a disparate tale of beaten flowers and crying bodies.

It does not loudly delineate the dots of power, but delicately threads a scene that makes us consider how burial, nativity, and communion might be held together.
